Q: Are the prints signed by the artist? Each print is signed by Tommy in the lower right hand corner. The signature is covered by the mat so it is not visible.
Q: Are the prints limited edition? The original prints are an open edition.
Q: What kind of prints are they? The archival pigment ink prints have been printed with an Epson Stylus Pro 3880 printer using Epson ultra chrome K3 inks and Tommy uses Epson ultra premium luster photo paper.
Q: What kind of camera and lights did you use?For this project Flynn used a Mamiya 645 Pro film camera with a 120mm Macro lens and it was shot on 120 Fuji Velvia film. The large size of the transparency gives great detail to each image. For the lighting he used Profoto strobe lights. Each transparency was scanned at a very high resolution to make the prints.
Q: Do you sell larger prints?I am represented by a few galleries that sells signed limited edition prints in larger sizes at gallery prices. Please contact me for the galleries information and prices.
Q: Can I buy these framed?
No. We do not frame, but the mat sizes 8x10" and 11x14" are common pre-made frame sizes. Amazon carries a wide selection online and many art supply stores such as, Michaels, Blick Art Materials, and Utrecht Art Supplies carry them as well. Any good framer in your city will able to frame them up too.
Q: What kind of knives do you use?
When I started this project I used a Togiharu cobalt damascus knife purchased from Korin here in Tribeca in New York City and changed to a Takamura knife that I bought at The New York Mutual Trading Inc. in Midtown
